Day 130 | Treat
Whether or coming or going, I usually find myself rushing to and from when I arrive at the Metra Station each day. But last evening, when I missed my train home by seconds (the doors literally closed as I ran onto the platform), I found an extra 20 minutes on my hands until the next boarding time and decided to explore the recently opened Chicago French Market. Located downstairs in the station’s concourse, the market offers selections for cooking at your own place, dining in their quaint, French-inspired café or taking food on the go. I loved their options for quick meals (including an entire section devoted to raw and vegan dishes) and couldn’t help but salivate over their elegant pastries and perfect culinary creations (Nutella and banana crepes)! Between their vast options for seafood, produce, meats, bread, pastries and cheeses, the French Market provides a great option for those needing a last minute grocery item as they make their way home each evening — or for a quick bite when my train leaves without me!
