Isn’t this watercolor the most beautiful artwork?  A friend gifted us with the print and I can’t wait to find the perfect matting and frame for display in our foyer.  A Chicago summer day at its finest.

The weather in Chicago has been impressively scorching lately.  And after a seemingly whirlwind week, I can’t wait to welcome the weekend with a game night with friends, an afternoon sailing on Lake Michigan and experimenting with some new summery cocktail recipes.  What’s on your agenda?

I’m ecstatic just thinking about our upcoming vacation.  We’ll explore Central America for 17 days and though we’ve settled on flying into Belize and traveling our way through all of the countries until spending a relaxing week in Cost Rica, we would be very appreciative of any recommendations you can offer regarding authentic restaurants, must-see landmarks and the best place to watch a sunset.  While my family has traveled extensively to the Caribbean and Mexico, I’m absolutely giddy with the thought of exploring the less-than-five-star-hotel aspects of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua (and, of course, capping our vacation by zip lining through the rainforest).  If you’ve explored this part of the world before, I would love to hear about any special spots we simply can’t miss.
